Why 2 unit 2 ways?

The cavity in our ears is not large enough to accommodate a phase favorable crossover even if it is a 2 units 2-way design. Simply adding more drivers would just overlap the sound region, therefore, phase would be mixed up due to the current leads/lags by different units from crossover circuit. Inevitably, interference occurs.

Why not ceramic capacitor?

The performance of ceramic capacitor is affected by temperature, voltage and frequency. Capacitance is common to decay 10-20% which is fatal to the cut off frequency.
Despite higher costs, film and electrolytic are always superior choice, where good temperature stability and AC response are always guaranteed.

Why not WIMA capacitor?

This is a common question from audiophiles. We have tried almost all available capacitors, but WIMA doesn’t perform well (low profile series) on crossover application, whereas MKP10 can’t be inserted into the earphone.

What kinds of electrolytic capacitor Pristine using? ELNA/Nichicon/Rubycon?

In fact, electrolytic capacitors never relate to good sound quality, there are hundreds of electrolytic capacitors choices, but many of them sounds weird in crossover network, including some high grade 'audiophiles series'. We removed the sleeves of capacitors to keep it confidential, and as long as it performs well and works, why cares?

Does 99.99% copper hooked wire affect sound so much? It’s very short.

Anything in the signal path include solder, connectors and cables do, so of course the internal wires makes a big difference.
